One page per game, with the publisher’s own numbers rather than ours, plus the head-to-head comparisons for the pairs people genuinely cross-shop. If you have landed here because somebody mentioned a specific title, this is the section that answers “is that actually the right thing to buy?”

Every game page follows the same shape: what the game actually is in plain language, what the publisher states for players, playing time and age, who it suits, and - the part most recommendations leave out - who should be given something else instead. Each one also lists every roundup on this site that features it, so you can see the jobs it is good at rather than a single verdict.

The comparison pages exist because the hardest moment in buying a gift is not choosing from forty games, it is choosing between two. Each one names a winner for a stated kind of buyer rather than declaring one game better in the abstract, because in every one of these pairs the honest answer depends on how many people are in the room.

What is on a game page and what is not

What is: the publisher’s stated player count, playing time and age band, each attributed to the publisher and linked to the page it was read from. A plain-language description of what you actually do on a turn. An honest exclusion. A live retail price when we hold one.

What is not: a star rating, a review score presented as a test result, or any claim that we have played these games. We have not, and we say so on every page. The gift fit number on each card is an editorial judgment about how safe a game is as a present, read off the published specifications - it is never marked up as a rating in the page’s structured data, because that would be a rating we did not earn.

Product images on this site

Where our retailer data supplies a photograph of the actual product, that is what you see. Where it does not, the thumbnail is a licensed photograph of the type of game and the alt text says exactly that, so nothing is passed off as a picture of a specific box.
